The reason I made this was because the person who bought the Shale Imp plush from me wanted it to have Courtyard Droll's hat. I ended up making two hats because I accidentally made one too small. And I can't have a hat lying around without a head to wear it! So I made the Courtyard Droll! Or Clubs Deuce if you take off his clothes and make-believe. He is made of fleece, jersey, broadcloth, wire, and other materials. His fingers are posable and his clothes are removable.
This plucky little guy was given away as a prize in a contest benefitting the MSPA Art Team [link] Courtyard Droll is a character from Homestuck, apparently. [link]
Edit: The winner of Courtyard Droll decided to send him on a worldwide tour, allowing other Homestuck fans to share the plushie love! You can see photos of CD's adventures here: [link]
I saw this plushie when you posted it on Deviant Art and i fell in love with him... Three weeks ago my friend asked me to go with him around richmond to have fun with a CD doll he got from a world wide tour thread for him and we took a bunch of pictures in VCU.
And now, i re-stumbled upon this beautiful thread and connected the dots. Now i am in freak-out mode.
I love your craftsmanship!! The first thing i noted when i held the doll, and being an artsy fartsy person i realized how rare it was, but it was so greatly crafted! There weren't any seams tearing, or anything. I congratulate you on honing this skill.
I can't wait until our pictures are put up on the flickr!!
And i am very much afraid to report that handling has caused the lace on the hat to fall out of shape, and the shirt is a bit worn - but overall it's survived wonderfully. Another sign of great work!
